Satellite View from an Address
No floor plan? Drop in an aerial. Enter a project address and pull a satellite image you can mark up, great for parking lots, building exteriors, and campus site walks.
Overview
When there is no floor plan, or the work is outside, you can pull a satellite image of the site straight from its address and mark it up like any other plan. It is built for parking-lot cameras, gate and perimeter devices, building exteriors, and campus walks.
Set the project address
Open a project and set its address (the project page has an address field with autocomplete). Once an address is set, a satellite thumbnail of the location appears on the project page.
Add the aerial
Click the satellite thumbnail. A dialog opens with the address pre-filled and a live preview of the aerial. Confirm to add it as a plan you can open in the editor. From there, drop cameras, draw coverage cones, and add wire runs exactly as you would on a floor plan.
Tips
The satellite image is a picture, not a scaled drawing, so use the Calibrate tool if you need real distances (tap two points a known distance apart). Aerial imagery can be a little dated, so double-check it against what is actually on site.
