Privacy Policy
This policy explains what FieldMarkup collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. FieldMarkup is a product of Copperpot Technologies. If anything here is unclear, email us at troy@fieldmarkup.com.
What we collect
- Account information. Your name and email address, handled through our sign-in provider (Clerk) when you create an account or accept an invite.
- Project content. The floor plans, photos, markups, device data, notes, and estimates you upload or create. This is your work product, and it belongs to you.
- Business settings. Details you enter such as your company name, logo, hourly rate, tax rate, and customer records.
- Usage and diagnostic data. Basic technical information such as the pages you visit, your browser type, and error logs, used to keep the service working and improve it.
- Feedback you send. Messages and optional screenshots you submit through the in-app feedback tool.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Provide the service: store your plans, render your markups, and generate exports.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Respond to your feedback and support requests.
- Send you account and service messages (for example, invites and important notices).
- Monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your project content to advertise to you.
Service providers we share data with
We use a small set of trusted providers to run FieldMarkup. They process data on our behalf and only for the purposes of running the service:
- Clerk for sign-in and account management.
- Neon for our application database.
- Cloudflare R2 for storing your files (floor plans, photos, exports).
- Vercel for hosting the application.
- Resend for sending email such as invites and notifications.
- Stripe for payment processing, if and when you subscribe to a paid plan. We never store your full card details.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a project, floor plan, or file, it enters a recoverable trash for roughly 60 days so you can restore it by mistake, after which it is permanently purged from our systems, including from file storage. Some records may be kept longer where required for legal, accounting, or security reasons.
Your choices and rights
You can:
- Access and correct your account and business details from your dashboard settings.
- Export your project data, for example as a CSV or a flattened PDF, from within the app.
- Delete individual projects, plans, and files at any time.
- Delete your whole account and data, see below.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To exercise any of these, email troy@fieldmarkup.com.
Deleting your data
You are always in control of your data. To remove it:
- Delete items yourself. Remove any project, floor plan, photo, or file from within the app. Deleted items are held in a recoverable trash for about 60 days, then permanently purged.
- Delete your entire account. Email troy@fieldmarkup.com from the address on your account and ask us to close it. We will delete your account and associated project data, and remove your files from storage, within 30 days. We will confirm when it is done.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. For a plain-language breakdown of our security practices, see our Trust and Security page. No online service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your information and to be honest about how we do it.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to sign you in and keep the app working. We do not use advertising cookies.
Children
FieldMarkup is a tool for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you.
